Visits

We had two different kinds of 'visits' this Sunday. The first was to the ER. Reed toppled off the pew in church and hit his head on the hymn book holder. He got a cut above his eye that looked pretty deep, so we took him in and he ended up with six stitches. And if you're thinking that this sounds familiar, it is. He got 3 stitches in his chin back in June. He is just such an active little boy - Rachel has never gotten stitches or any remotely serious injury. He was such a tough little trooper though, he only cried right when he fell for less than a minute, and then again when they were getting him ready to do the stitches. His cut is healing well though and he'll have the stitches out by Friday. But that's why he's got a bandaid on his face in all the following pictures.

Our second, happier type of visit was from Meme and Pepe (my parents, who live in Connecticut). They're taking a big trip out here to a bunch of different places, and stayed with us for a few days. It was so fun having them here!

Meme and Rachel - Rachel loved sitting on Meme's lap.

Pepe and Rachel "sleeping."

Some pictures of the kids my dad took while I was out running some errands.

Meme makes good lunches. :)

The last day they were here, we went up to Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country. I feel like this blog has a lot of pictures of Rachel riding these ponies, but she loves it so much and she's so cute, I can't help posting them. :)

Meme and Pepe also took the opportunity to spoil the kids. Reed got this cool pirate ship that he can play with and ride on. It is seriously his new favorite thing, he played with it for probably an hour straight when we first got it put together. I don't think he's ever played with anything for more than 10 minutes in a row before.

Rachel likes the pirate ship too.
And Rachel got a neat easel to draw on. It has a chalk side and a dry erase/magnet side. She loves it and has been drawing pictures nonstop.

Playing on the air mattresses was also a highlight of the visit.

Got a nice little family picture too, complete with pajamas, this was the best out of the 8 or so my dad took.

And this was probably the funniest:
I especially like Rachel's ninja pose.

This is what it looks like when we're trying to replace Reed's bandaid. He doesn't like being held down.

Daddy and the kiddos

I'm not big on the whole 'planking' craze, but Rachel did this all on her own, so I had to get a picture.

This is what it generally looks like when my parents visit: my dad snapping pictures, and my mom with a book. :)

We love you Meme and Pepe!

Sounds like lots of fun! Your kids are so cute, I'm so glad we're back in town to get to know them. I didn't realize just how sweet Rachel was until having her for school.

I always say this, but they are getting so big! I like the comment from Rebacca that Rachel is sweet, because I think so too.

Those crazy boys! We've hit that same pew so many times and now I realize how lucky I am to have walked away with only a little blood.
