May was a month of finishing up school and gearing up for summer. Here's some of what we were up to this month.
| Ice cream! |
We put the kids in spring soccer, and they both loved it.
| I am officially a minivan driving soccer mom. :) |
| Rachel chasing after the ball, which actually rarely happened... |
| Because usually her games looked like this. Most of the players chasing around after the ball, and Rachel off by herself, daydreaming, singing or talking to herself, or observing things like the grass, her shadow, or the ball pictures on her soccer jersey. She always said she had fun though, and that's all that matters! |
| Reed was usually in the thick of things, though. He even scored a goal once, too. |
| Rachel's birth father was able to come to one of her games, which was really fun! It was good to see him and his wife Liz. |
| We went to the Planetarium one day. This is the kids on the moonscape. |
| And then we watched an Imax movie about lemurs. |
| We went and checked out the new Museum of Natural Curiosity. It was really cool, but unfortunately, this is the only pictures I have since my camera ran out of battery right after this. |
| Rachel's kindergarten class put on the play of Where the Wild Things Are. It was so cute, and Rachel did very good at her part. :) |
Rachel has really gotten into Legos the last month. She's really good at putting them together with the instructions by herself.
| Reed also likes Legos, but only if I put them together for him. While he sits back and drinks chocolate milk. |
| Reed's legos. |
| We got together with some friends who were our neighbors when we had our house. It was fun to see them again and go to Farm Country together. |
At the end of May it warmed up enough for us to take our first of hopefully many summer camping trips! Mike's brothers Conner and Nick (and his family) went with us and we had a lot of fun.
| Building fairy houses. |
| Sitting around the campfire. |
| Seeing deer. |
| And of course, eating smores. There was also fishing and hiking, but I didn't manage to get pictures of that. |
