Summer!

We had so much fun this summer! Here's some of the fun times we had!

We hiked up Ensign Peak with a group of friends. It's a fairly short, but pretty uphill hike.

Reached the top!

Water and crackers at the top.

Great view of the Salt Lake valley from the top too.

This was the only picture I have of a weekend date Mike and I had in June. We just stayed in Provo, went to dinner and ComedySportz (improv comedy show) and then went downhill biking at Sundance the next day.

Reed setting up his cars and army guys. Very serious stuff.

Playing at the park. We went to the park a lot this summer.

Down the slide.

Annual trip to Lagoon amusement park sponsored by Mike's work. Unfortunately, my body chose that exact day to have an awesome stomach flu, so Mike and the kids went while I spent the day feeling miserable at home. Boo. They had fun though!

Riding Bulgy the whale.

Some of Mike's family joined them too.

Hot dogs!

Double piggyback ride.

Rachel found this old onesie of Reed's and put it on her puppy. Rachel seriously adores this puppy.

We did a bunch of swimming lessons too. The kids loved it and did really good. They still can't actually swim yet, but they are a lot more comfortable in the water.

Swimming buddies!

We also did a lot of activities at the library. This one was a wild animal show.

Petting a gigantic snake. Rachel is fearless.

Sewing project. Reed's attention span for this wasn't very long.

Rachel's was though, she loves sewing.

The finished product.

And sometimes we just lounge on the bed playing on the computer.

For the kids' birthday, we went to a fun center and played a bunch of games, roller skated, played in bouncy houses, and went on the water slides. It was a super fun day!

The kids' roller skates were quickly turned in for scooters, as the kids got tired of falling down all the time, haha!

Mike and I rocking our roller skates. The best moment of the day for me was skating around the rink holding hands with Mike. All we needed was a good Boyz to Men song, and I think we would have time-warped back to 1995. Good times.

On Sunday, we had a little birthday party at Gammy and Papa's house. The kids chose a pirate theme.

Presents!

Cake! Reed had Spongebob.

And Rachel picked a firefighter cake.

Reed likes getting creative with his sandwiches. This one had 3 pieces of bread, strawberry jam, about a quarter of a bottle of Ranch, and honey. He ate it all.

Shooting toys off a stool with a suction cup gun. This kept Reed busy forever.

Just playing at our apartment complex. We also did a lot of swimming at our apartment pool, but for some reason I never took pictures.

Being silly. :)

Rachel's birth dad gave her a set of glow in the dark planets and stars for her birthday. The kids love them!

Mike and I had our 11th anniversary this year. We just stayed in a hotel in downtown and hung out. This was the view from our hotel room.

Dinner at the Garden Restaurant.

The view from our table. Awesome!

Speaking of temples, the kids and I went up to the Ogden Temple open house. It was really neat.

We love to see the temple.

Random parade in August.

You know it's a Utah parade when there's a float with a T-Rex pulling a handcart.

And all of a sudden, it was the first day of school! Rachel was so excited and ready. I was really emotional.

Bye sister! Just me and my little buddy at home during the day now. Love his cute face.
