Meme, Thanksgiving, Etc.

First, just some random pictures:

Reed's really good at propping himself up while on his tummy, but sitting up is still a skill we're working on. He's not a fan of sitting up and only likes it for a minute or two at a time, which is kind of funny. I try to stick him in the Bumbo here for a little while every day to practice until he starts complaining.

This is Rachel's effort at diapering all her stuffed animals. These are also the 3 friends she cannot sleep without. Tonight we tried to put her to bed without the pink monkey. After tucking in Mindy Bear and her puppy, she went, "Monkey! Oh no!" and I had to go look for him.

Rachel also loves to help cook. Here's her and Mike making waffles on a Saturday morning.

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, we set up our tree and Christmas decorations. Rachel loved it and kept saying "Tree! Tree!" She's also been pretty good at not touching the ornaments, which is nice.

Last week, my mom ("Meme" to the kids) came to visit us for a few days during Thanksgiving. We were so happy to have her here, and Rachel and Reed just adore her. The first night, Rachel ran around very hyper and excited - it was really cute.

Rachel had many, many stories read to her by Meme while she was here. Apparently Meme is a good storyteller.

Rachel also liked helping Meme make the pies for Thanksgiving dinner.

Reed expressed his love of Meme through happy screams, which he discovered he could make while she was here. It was pretty funny, he would just smile and scream at her while curling his tongue. This picture is mid-scream.

Meme also makes a good pillow.

He didn't get any turkey or pie, but enjoyed his first Thanksgiving all the same. His birth mom's family gave him the cute onesie. :) Thanks!

Rachel's hair, done by her aunt Jenny. She is infinitely more patient with Jenny doing her hair than me for some reason.

We had a great week, and are excited about the Christmas season!
